Air Transat is the only airline that offers direct flights from Glasgow to Toronto. A direct flight takes approximately seven hours and fifteen minutes. Other airlines, including Air Canada and WestJet, all offer this service but include stop overs, some of which can be quite lengthy and involve connecting flights. The earliest flight departs at 6:05 a.m., while the last leaves at 9:00 p.m.
Glasgow Airport is 11 km west of central Glasgow. You can catch the Glasgow Shuttle bus 500 from Central Station, Queen Street Station and Buchanan Bus Station. The service operates 24 hours a day and departs every ten minutes. The journey generally takes 20 minutes, depending on the traffic. The 747 also leaves from the city center. From Glasgow Central station you can get a train to Paisley Gilmour Street station, the nearest station to the airport. From there, McGill's bus 757 takes you to the airport. You can buy a combined train/bus ticket for your journey which is accepted by both operators.
Toronto is the capital city of the province of Ontario. It is home to many cultural and arts organisations, and hosts popular annual music and film festivals around the city. Travelers will arrive at Pearson International Airport or Toronto City Airport. Pearson International is 22.5 km northwest of Toronto. You can get the Union Pearson Express train to Union Station in downtown Toronto. The service operates from 5:30 a.m. to 1:00 a.m., and trains leave every 15 minutes. There are many buses into the city, including the 192 Airport Rocket bus and the 52A. Night buses 300A and 307 run every 20-30 minutes between 1:00 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. Toronto City Airport is on Centre Island, located 1 km south of the city. Due to the close proximity of the airport to the city center, it is easy enough to walk to through the pedestrian tunnel. There is a ferry service across the lake to Eireann Quay, or you can catch the 509 or 511 streetcars. Taxis are available from both airports.
